LATEST NEWS

In May I made another fabulous trip to Iceland where the landscape is often formed from lava, the beaches are black, tectonic plates are visible and the earth smokes. Shortly after I stood at the edge of the lava from the last eruption in Reykjanes the vulcano come to life again. An eruption print had been made. Follow me on Instagram for all updates.

In October I exhibit in New Zealand and the Netherlands (see below). For February 2024 a large exhibition is planned in Te Atamira in Queenstown, New Zealand, with my fellow printmakers with whom I show in the Railway Street Gallery in Auckland. I am planning to be there for the opening and give a talk and demonstration. There will also be workshops by the other artists. More news to follow soon

III NOVOSIBIRSK INTERNATIONAL TRIENNIAL OF CONTEMPORARY GRAPHIC ARTS

I was invited to be the Curator of the Dutch entry for this Triennial. I have chosen printmakers who reflect different aspects of the Netherlands: how, maybe as a result of living in this crowded country, some artists create a personal space for their figures where only they exist;  how, on the other hand, there is also the wide, low country, with its endless horizons, rivers, skies, dunes and polders; and finally there are those artists (and I included myself here), who need to escape the denseness of the homeland and travel. Their images tell of other cultures and natures. The selected artists are: Hans Andringa, Bea van der Heijden, Marcelle Hanselaar, Elsbeth Cochius, Jadranka Njegovan, Siemen Dijkstra, Jan Naezer, Gea Karhof, Nan Mulder and Rolf Weijburg.
